Start a Free Trial or Subscription in REKNOWN

Purpose#

Use REKNOWN with a 14-day free trial, then activate a paid subscription when the trial ends.

Who Can Do It#

New organizations receive a 14-day free trial. Only an organization admin can choose a paid plan and complete subscription activation. Editors and volunteers can use the workspace during an active trial, but they must ask an organization admin to manage billing.

Prerequisites#

• An active REKNOWN account with organization-admin access.
• The correct organization selected.
• A payment method accepted by the embedded Stripe payment form when activating a paid subscription.
• A valid coupon code, if you plan to use one.
• A working Stripe configuration for the REKNOWN deployment.

Use the Free Trial#

1. Create a new organization or open an organization with an available trial.
2. Confirm that the 14-day free trial is active.
3. Use the regular REKNOWN workspace during the trial without activating a paid subscription.
4. Ask an organization admin to review the trial and subscription status under Settings and Billing.

The trial provides workspace access for 14 days. A paid subscription is required to continue using protected workspace features after the trial expires.

Activate a Paid Subscription#

1. Log in as an organization admin and select the organization.
2. Open Choose your plan when prompted, or open Settings and Billing.
3. Optionally enter a code in Coupon code.
4. Select Monthly or Yearly. Selecting a plan creates the payment total and opens the secure Stripe payment form.
5. Review the selected-plan or coupon message and the Due now amount.
6. Enter the requested payment information in the Stripe form.
7. Select Pay and activate.
8. Wait for Payment received. Activating your workspace... and for REKNOWN to verify subscription access.

Plans and Options#

• 14-day free trial: Provides temporary workspace access before a paid subscription is required.
• Coupon code: Optional. Enter the code before selecting a plan. REKNOWN validates active promotion codes through Stripe.
• Monthly: Displayed as $25 per month before any coupon discount.
• Yearly: Displayed as $250 per year before any coupon discount, with Best value and Save $50.
• Due now: The amount Stripe will charge when activating the selected paid subscription, after any displayed discount.
• Pay and activate: Confirms payment through Stripe and asks REKNOWN to verify that workspace access is active.

What Happens Afterward#

• During the active 14-day trial, authorized users can use normal workspace features without a paid subscription.
• When an administrator activates a subscription, Stripe processes the payment without requiring them to leave the REKNOWN page unless Stripe requires a redirect for payment authentication.
• REKNOWN checks the organization's current billing status after payment.
• When trial or subscription access is allowed, REKNOWN loads the workspace. A new organization is directed to Create your first program.
• The organization admin can later review billing under Settings and Billing.

Troubleshooting and Important Notes#

• If you change Coupon code after selecting a plan, REKNOWN displays Coupon changed. Choose a plan again to refresh the total. Select Monthly or Yearly again before paying.
• If a code is invalid or inactive, REKNOWN displays Coupon code was not found or is inactive. Remove or correct the code and select a plan again.
• If Ask an organization admin to activate billing. appears, log out and ask an administrator for the selected organization to complete activation.
• If the trial has expired, an organization admin must activate a paid subscription.
• If Stripe publishable key is not configured for this web app. appears, payment cannot be completed from that deployment. Contact the person who manages the REKNOWN installation.
• If Stripe rejects the payment, use the message shown by the payment form to correct the payment details or try another supported method.
• If payment succeeds but the workspace does not open immediately, wait briefly and reload so REKNOWN can retrieve the updated Stripe billing status.
• Prices shown here match the current REKNOWN interface and may be reduced by an applicable coupon. Always confirm the displayed Due now amount before paying.
• Select Log out if you need to leave subscription activation without paying.
