Review the Audit Log

The audit log provides a read-only trail of sensitive account, billing, student, photo, and attendance changes.

Permissions#

  • Organization admins can review the current organization's audit log in Settings.
  • Editors and volunteers cannot open the organization audit log.
  • Super admins can review the cross-organization audit log in the Super admin support area.

Review Organization Activity#

  1. Open Settings.
  2. Select Audit log.
  3. Read When for the action timestamp.
  4. Read Action for a plain-language action type and, when shown, the organization name.
  5. Read Actor for the user's email. System means no user actor was recorded.
  6. Read Details for the summary, target type, and target identifier.

Entries are ordered newest first. Action names are formatted for readability, and internal deactivated actions are displayed as deleted in the label.

Expected Outcome#

You can identify who performed a tracked action, when it occurred, which record it targeted, and a concise description of the change.

Troubleshooting and Important Notes#

  • No audit log entries yet. means there are no returned entries for the current scope.
  • The settings screen loads the latest 100 entries and currently has no search, filter, export, or Load more control.
  • The audit log is not a complete diff of every field. It records actions that the application explicitly audits and shows a summary rather than a before-and-after record.
  • Removed attendance is also visible in student and event attendance history with its removal time and actor.
  • Super admins see up to 100 newest entries across organizations in their support view; organization admins see only the current organization.
